Zucchini Muffins ~ Secret Recipe Club

I hope you guys had an amazing weekend! I know I sure packed a lot of fun in. And now it’s secret recipe time again! It’s always so much fun getting my assignment, and checking out a new blog. This month I was assigned Jane’s Adventures in Dinner. I really enjoyed reading Jane’s blog and there were many recipes I wanted to try out……like this national dish of Canada. So many great choices, but I finally settled on these zucchini muffins.

Dutch baby or German pancakes

I have a treat for you today!! A couple years ago when I first started Creative Kitchen I posted about one of my all time favorite breakfasts….the puffy pancake. I’m sharing it again to update you guys with a new more recent photo, and because it’s too good to be forgotten. Make sure you visit the link to see the story behind how I first discovered this wonder! It’s still a favorite here in my house, and we make it all the time. I’m sure many of you have tried this delectable creation in a restaurant….but did you happen to know how EASY it is to make at home? Not just easy….it’s quick! Faster than pancakes, and almost as fast as french toast. And you bake it in the oven, so it frees you up to do other things!

Make your own taco seasoning ~ SUPER easy!

Quite a few of my friends make their own taco seasoning, but I know there’s got to be many of you out there that still throw that packet into your grocery cart, or buy that big container at bulk at Costco. Either convenience calls your name, or you’ve just never thought about it. But wait….you’ve got all the spices at home to whip it up yourself. It only takes a couple minutes, and has no HIDDEN ingredients. That means no MSG or sugar!

Practice post from my new iPad…my Mother’s Day gift!

20120514-120032.jpg
I was blessed this past weekend with an iPad from hubby and my girls for Mother’s Day! I must say I’m still feeling all warm and fuzzy just thinking about our visit to the Apple store. I really find it amusing that I even wanted an iPad. When I first heard of them coming out a few years ago, I really thought the idea was quite silly. I mean come on, 500 bucks for a toy! I saw no way it could replace a laptop, so that meant it was a luxury item for me….a want, not a a need. And I definitely wasn’t fond of the name. 😉

Sandra Lee ~ a little something for you

I can’t wait to share with you guys all about myfirst trip to NYC…..and I completely fell in love with Central Park. Guess I should have considered that a given, but I was actually quite surprised. Over 800 acres? Big climbing rocks everywhere? Hills and small trails to hike meandering throughout? Weddings, bridal photos, family picnics and special occasions abound around you….the people watching is INCREDIBLE!

And while I thought that certain fountain would be the most recognizable from all those movies, I was taken aback to realize that the mall area with the huge towering canopies of Elm trees was the biggest surprise of all. I didn’t recognize it at first….I had to see it later in pictures, but it certainly explains why I felt like I was in a dream. I was mesmerized…….see?

But Central Park and other NYC details will have to wait….I want to make sure you get your hands on this coupon and introduce you to the new Sandra Lee line first. As I told you earlier, the reason I went to New York was to check out her new product line. I knew we’d meet Sandra Lee, but since I don’t keep up with celebrities…I wasn’t sure what to expect. Maybe a brief 20 or 30 minute presentation by her? Being whisked in and out by her entourage?
