Mango Pineapple Green Smoothie

We’ve been drinking green smoothies for at least 5 years now. My mom introduced me to them long before I noticed them sprouting up all over the internet a few years ago. She’s a raw vegan, so these are a staple in her diet. I know what you’re thinking…..they look SO green! It’s okay…I promise, it’s just the secret ingredient (spinach…shh!!) that turns them green, but you certainly don’t taste the spinach. Really, it’s true. These green smoothies are not just good for you, but they’re also refreshing, tasty, satisfying and give you A LOT of energy. And as a homeschool mom of 3, who am I to turn down a natural energy boost?

Food Blog Forum Orlando ~ Walt Disney World Resort (day one)

Last weekend I had the privilege of attending Food Blog Forum Orlando again. You may remember last year I came home from Food Blog Forum with a renewed zest for my site and bought my own domain name. It was my first food blog event, and I learned so much and met so many wonderful people….like my friend Michelle. An experience that great would be hard to top.

So if the pictures are already jumping out at you, you’ll see why this year was beyond amazing! When I first found out Walt Disney World was one of the major sponsors of our event, I was in shock. If you’ve been around here long enough you know we are BIG Disney fans, and season passholders several times over. So when I found out that our conference was not only at Disney, but that we’d be staying at the Polynesian Resort (a deluxe monorail resort) I was stunned. Staying at a Disney monorail hotel has always been a dream of ours, but never in our budget.

Flourless chocolate walnut torte – Secret Recipe Club

It’s Secret recipe club time again, and I’m super excited to share this recipe with you guys. I’m always on the lookout for flourless recipes since my dear friend Tammy isn’t able to eat gluten. I know so many of you out there are in the same boat, and it can be challenging to find desserts that you can eat. Not only does this dessert melt in your mouth, but it has hints of a chocolate and walnut crunch. Top it with strawberries and homemade whipped cream, and you have a perfectly elegant dessert.

Have you tried Cincinnati style chili? It’s a must!

20120307-041954.jpg

Back in the early 90’s before I moved to Florida I had the chance to visit Cincinnati, Ohio. If you’ve been there, I don’t have to tell you what a beautiful city it is. Or that people from Cincinnati are proud of their town. After all, they have the Reds, the river and rollings hills (from what I remember). Good friends of mine introduced me to the area’s famous Skyline chili. And I was hooked! What a creative way to eat chili.

My new love….Instagram!

20120313-013607.jpg

Ever since getting my new Iphone, I’ve been in love with Instagram! I have to admit, it was one of the apps I was most excited about. Many food bloggers hang out at Instagram, and I love that I can see their pictures all in one place instead of just clicking over from Twitter. I also love that it’s a smaller place to hang out. I decided to follow only those I either know, or really enjoy following instead of blindly following everyone. This keeps my stream to a more manageable level, and I get to see what I really want to see. It also makes it easier to get to know each other.

Do you use Instagram? If so, what do you like about it? Dislike? If you haven’t heard about Instagram, come check it out. It’s free, easy to use and FUN!!

If you enjoyed this post, won’t you consider sharing it with others? Handy share and “Facebook recommend” buttons are below. It really makes my day when you pass things along! To make sure you don’t miss a post or recipe you can either follow Creative Kitchen on Facebook or subscribe by Email in the sidebar. Thanks for reading….I love having company in the kitchen!
