Sandra Lee ~ a little something for you

I can’t wait to share with you guys all about myfirst trip to NYC…..and I completely fell in love with Central Park. Guess I should have considered that a given, but I was actually quite surprised. Over 800 acres? Big climbing rocks everywhere? Hills and small trails to hike meandering throughout? Weddings, bridal photos, family picnics and special occasions abound around you….the people watching is INCREDIBLE!

And while I thought that certain fountain would be the most recognizable from all those movies, I was taken aback to realize that the mall area with the huge towering canopies of Elm trees was the biggest surprise of all. I didn’t recognize it at first….I had to see it later in pictures, but it certainly explains why I felt like I was in a dream. I was mesmerized…….see?

But Central Park and other NYC details will have to wait….I want to make sure you get your hands on this coupon and introduce you to the new Sandra Lee line first. As I told you earlier, the reason I went to New York was to check out her new product line. I knew we’d meet Sandra Lee, but since I don’t keep up with celebrities…I wasn’t sure what to expect. Maybe a brief 20 or 30 minute presentation by her? Being whisked in and out by her entourage?

Actually…..she really did host a party for me and 21 other bloggers. We walked in and met her immediately on a red carpet she’d set up for us and we each got our photo with her. Then we were immediately served lunch. Her new dishes and kitchen ware were displayed around the room, and all the food served were Sanrda’s recipes. Of course being bloggers we all snapped pictures for the first 15 minutes before fixing our plates. 😉

Then what happened next completely took me by surprise (yes, a lot of surprises this trip!). Sandra sat down and spent the next hour and a half getting to know US! She’d been to our blogs, and knew a bit about each of us. She wanted to interact with us, and has questions for each of us pertaining to our lives. She asked me about homeschooling and about how I met hubby.

I enjoyed learning about all the women in the room as well as Sandra herself! We then had a tablescaping activity, and divided into groups to compete. We moved into another room and learned more about the thought and research that went into the development of her products, and we also had a time of Q & A to ask Sandra questions. It was a very intimate and FUN afternoon, but went by way too fast!

We wrapped things up with a cocktail time, and sampled the meringue margarita and scrumptious appetizers. Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye and gather a few new goodies to take home. I can’t believe I finally own my first stock pot….12 quarts!

I’ve already been using these in my own kitchen, and of course they’re many more beautiful products I want to buy. Their beauty, function and value can’t be beat! I love the collapsible strainer pictured above, and have used it many times already. I love that it folds up for easy storage…space is always at a premium in the kitchen. As a special treat for my readers, Sandra provided a coupon for $5 off any purchase of $15 or more at Sears online. Make sure you check them out for yourself!

Disclaimer: My trip to New York City was paid for by Sears Kenmore, but as always the opinions expressed in this post are purely my own. Pictures used in the above collages were provided to me by Sandra Lee photographers. Thank you!!
