Wrapping up the Kenmore Blogger Summit

I tweeted recently about life getting in the way of my blogging. I guess it’s better than the other way around. 😉 As much as I love coming here and sharing with you, my family takes priority. I’m sure you guys understand! I am excited to be back and finishing up sharing about my Kenmore adventures in Chicago. In all fairness, the photo collages take quite a bit of time, and my recap posts as well. But I’ll be back to posting recipes in no time, and I also have a few other new things to share with you!

How is it that Chicago was already over 2 weeks ago? Was it a dream? I’m still in disbelief (tell me to snap out of it….if you’re sick of hearing this part, just skim on over it!) that I boarded a plane and headed that far from home. Incredulous!! Those closest to me say they aren’t surprised and they knew I had it in me. Me? I shocked myself….and that’s a GOOD thing!

To further let you in on my insanity…I’ll admit a secret. I used to hear planes above and/or see them since I’ve become a mom. I’d sit on the beach and wonder about the people on the plane…where they were going, the freedom of hopping on board and heading out on an adventure. I was jealous, but at the same time terrified at the thought. Now when I hear a plane, I smile….I can picture and visualize that pre-children adventure again and it feels really good! Ahh….God has been so good to me! I am truly blessed!!

Kenmore Blogger Summit Day 1

It was just last Sunday that I returned home from Chicago where I attended the Kenmore Blogger Summit. But after spending a week in the warm South Florida weather, it almost seems like a dream. I know I already shared with you that I had an amazing time. But I promised you some details….so here goes! Can I mention a sidenote here that is was so cool to pack for one! I mean with airline regulations, I was restricted to 1 carry-on and 1 large purse/briefcase…and it was neat to limit myself and pack lightly.

I had a few anxieties about getting on the plane, and now I’m super excited that I conquered that fear. I mean…not just flying, but being thousands of miles away from my kids, and it all worked out. New York City, here I come! (someday) And what an entrance back into flying I got…..body scans, pat downs, a little bit of turbulence, landing in snowy conditions, and the de-icing of the plane before we left last Sunday. 😉

Notice my flight was on time to Chicago, but all of the flights that were cancelled once I actually got to O’hare.

Kenmore has a coupon for you!!

Hi guys!! Wow….what a weekend! I had an amazing time at the Kenmore Blogger Summit in Chicago. If you follow me on Twitter, then you kept up with all the drama….like getting stuck on the highway in a blizzard (though Tanis of Redneck Mommy (she’s from Canada) assured me while laughing that this was not a blizzard….hey if it takes us almost 3 hours to go 20 miles….then it’s a blizzard to this Florida girl!)…..

or getting my first body scan at Palm Beach International Airport, or my very first pat down at Chicago O’Hare (guess I failed that body scan….yeah, this homeschool mom of 3 is a big threat….haha). I will confess to you that the pat down was not invasive at all (thankfully), but it made me wonder what part of the scan made them think I was stashing something. I mean don’t those scans show everything?? Whatever….

Refrigerator Pickles ~ quick, easy & leaving for Chicago (I hope!)

I can’t believe I leave for Chicago bright and early tomorrow morning! I’m all packed and ready to go. I had a lot of fun shopping borrowing from my friend’s closets the past few days. I have to say I sure did love only packing for ONE person. Those that know me as an overpacker will be impressed that I’m only taking a small carry-on rolling suitcase and a large purse. It’s so cool!
